I have always thought of Hollywood Casino in Joliet as a pretty boring place. The only reason why I went there in the first place was because I had read about it on the internet. I was quite pleasantly surprised with what I saw on the first night of my visit. The casino seemed very nice and modern, everything was very bright and colorful, and there were quite a few free food and drink choices.
I was rather surprised to see that there was no gambling going on. I wasn’t aware that there was such a thing as a “hollywood casino”. I guess I just thought that a casino would be more like a small hotel than a casino. Perhaps that’s why Hollywood Casino’s design is so bright and colorful.
It is a casino, in other words, exactly as you would expect. It’s a themed, live, entertainment-based casino, and so it doesn’t offer much in the way of gambling. So the fact that you don’t see many people gambling is actually a welcomed change. Also, the fact that there are no gaming machines with slot machines or dice games is a good sign too.
Hollywood casinos are a nice addition to the city, and they are in a nice location close to some of the shops and restaurants in the city. What is a good casino though?
